Safe Sport
OVERVIEW
Rugby New Brunswick recognizes its fundamental obligation and responsibility to protect the health, safety and physical and mental well-being of every individual that is involved in the New Brunswick rugby community. All members have a right to participate in a safe and inclusive environment free of abuse, harassment, and discrimination. Rugby NB is committed to enacting and enforcing strong, clear, and effective policies and processes for preventing and addressing all forms of misconduct or maltreatment.
Safe Sport Policy Suite
The Safe Sport Suite and corresponding Safe Sport Policy Manual has been developed by Rugby Canada and Sport Law and Strategy Group (SLSG) following an independent review. These policies are intended to promote a Safe Sport environment in a manner that allows for consistent, immediate, appropriate, and meaningful action should any issues arise, but also to prevent issues from arising in the first place by communicating expected standards of behaviour.
- These documents recognize the ongoing development of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) and the value of aligning its conduct standards with the national standard.
